Wonderful weekends on a family budget

meet ellie... our jayco expanda!

Ellie is our pre-loved Jayco Expanda. We tie her to the back of the ute and off we go. We've always wanted a caravan, but until recently have not been in the position to purchase one.
We love local trips as much as we love the big ones! There's so much to explore, so close to us. And often we can tie Billie (our Border Collie) up in the back and take her for the weekend too. It's family fun for everyone! 
We've got big plans for Ellie. Chasing our mantra of work and life intertwined, she's not just a home on wheels, but will soon be a portable office, where we can take our work away with us and manage our lives completely, no matter where we are.

This site isn't just about work. It's about play too! We've had this long term goal to just travel as much as possible before our kids get too old and want to travel on their own and so many things have stopped us - finance, work, responsibilities.
Do you remember camping with your parents, eating tinned foods and being entertained by sticks and ants nests? When we travel for weekend trips, we set ourselves a challenge to do it on as little budget as possible! It pushes us to be creative and innovative with our weekends and take it back a little old school.
